15.05. Вернулся из Шенгена в Минск.
Противоречивые впечатления, но в целом хорошие.

Внутреннее презрение «старой Европы» к восточной Европе впечатляет. «Запад» абсолютно развращен отсутствием собственного достоинства и чего-то реально ценного у своего «востока». Даже просто с рациональной точки зрения, гораздо продуктивнее стремиться к благожелательному диалогу с Европой, чем к положению внутри нее на правах таких «бедных родственников» («новой Европы»). Из собственной «землянки» путь в замок реальнее, чем из флигелька для прислуги. Но, кажется, какие-то общие точки для такого более или менее равноправного диалога по Homo Europaeus, находятся. Предварительно договорились встретиться вскоре в Берлине.

«Чисто лично» особенно понравились профессора из Оксфорда и Сорбонны. Ради часов пяти бесед с Пятигорским стоило лететь даже в куда-нибудь в Намибию. Другие также были очень интересны.

Организовано все было идеально: люксембургская деревня, замок, Мозель, за рекой налево от моста - Германия, направо – Франция. Ужинали в маленьких городках во Франции: к каждому сыру свое вино и т.д. Сам Люксембург был бы банален, если бы не остатки грандиозной крепости с бастионами-скалами и глубокими долинами, через которые протянуты арочные мосты. Возле Вены удивили обширные леса, казалось, в Европе таких лесов уже нет.
