Thanks, you are absolutly right - I normally give kids ice-cream as treat, not everyday and I have never even noticed it... Kids beg to go to 2 nearby ince-cream joints - one is gelateria, another upscale cafe, both are pretty expensive, but since 1 is in the walking distance from home (3 km), some summer nights we walk over. The thing is, they like milkshakes too, each costing $6 and not everyone knows to make good shake - teenagers working normally end-up crushing the ice-cream, so the shake is not exactly liquid until you wait for 10 min. Anyway, I figured it's about time to learn to make shakes at home and I started experimenting recently. For Passover, someone brought lot's of different sorbe and it got stuck in the freezer - blood orange, coconut, mango. I don't normally like sorbe, especially not these flavors, but once I added to it some milk, frozen srawberries and banana, it got so amazing (mango one was the best). Now I keep my blender handy, kids are happy and I might even buy some sorbet in order to get healthier shake (compared to old one that we used to do with Hugen Daaz ice-cream)...
