Старинные швейные принадлежности 17-19 век.
Наперстки, игольницы,несессеры, шателены, шкатулки и столики для рукоделия.
Когда заходишь на антикварные или музейные сайты и видишь все эти штучки, у шьющего человека глаза разбегаются. Все такое красивое! Даже катушечки из слоновой кости и перламутра.
И качество тогда было необычайное.
У меня есть старинные закройные ножницы "Золинген", я горя не знаю, настолько высокое качество стали, они годами не тупятся, кожу и тончайшую ткань одинаково хорошо режут.
Дамы даже самого высокого положения любили заниматься рукоделием, соответственно швейные инструменты часто делались ювелирами из драгоценных металлов и всячески украшались.
Позже я покажу королевские и царские швейные несессеры и принадлежности, это вобще- ювелирные шедевры...

English Needlework Sewing Casket Circa 1624 Depicting The Judgment Of Paris
A circa 1624 English needlework casket depicting scenes from the life of Venus worked in colored silks. The top depicting the judgment of Paris, the front, back and sides with Venus and Adonis. The interior is fitted with various compartments, drawers, some hidden, a pair of original mercury glass bottles, a writing tray with ink and pounce pots. The inside is lined in salmon pink silk, marbled paper and colored prints including the sacrifice of Isaac and the wise and foolish virgins on the inside door.
Allegorical and biblical subjects, along with portraits of monarchs, were the most common themes for the decoration of a seventeenth-century box. The majority show biblical scenes, although these are sometimes combined with depictions of the Senses or the Seasons. Typically young girls of 12 years of age and of wealth stitched the scenes for the box…imagine

Approx. 2 by 2 3/4 by 3 inches.
Fabulous look with string lyre legs and inset with ivory. Underneath the table is a velvet padded foot rest.
Lid opens to reveal a mirror and 11 compartments for the miniature tools and accessories.

19th Century French Tortoiseshell Sewing Box W/mother-of-pearl Tools
Presenting a stunning French circa 1840’s tortoiseshell sewing box with a sterling silver name plaque on top with the name of “Mary L. Howland”, escutcheon with key and sits upon four bun feet. Tortoiseshell was primarily made from the shell of the Hawksbill turtle and is getting quite rare today since the sea turtle went on the critically endangered list. The fitted interior is further enhanced with ivory around the edges. The entire interior is covered in a light blue satin while the lid has a padded and ruffled edge.
