Я стер имена и названия, остальное перепечатанно как есть. Письмо директора школы в благополучном городе на Восточном побережье родителям учеников.

****************************************************

Dear Parents,

Last Monday morning I met with the Town Police Department because of a scrawled notation that we discovered in the 6/7/8th grade boys' bathroom. The notation said simply - the time - and below it was a date and time - 4/28/08 1 PM. No threat was attached to the message, it was placed in a bathroom stall where it could have easily gone unnoticed and was written in a small, faint handwriting. In short, it looked like a student's senseless joke.

This morning I met with the police chief. The police have concluded that this scrawl does not constitute a real threat. However, Superintendent of Schools, Chief of Police, and I are in agreement that this information should be shared with parents. In addition, Chief will have a police presence at our school throughout the day on Monday, April 28.

We will continue our efforts throughout this week to discover who wrote this scrawl. I shall also be working with the police about any
additional steps we should take.

Recognizing that you might have further questions or concerns, I have scheduled a meeting for this Tuesday morning at 7:30 am and again at 7:30 pm in the evening in our library. If you can not make either of these meetings, please feel free to contact me.

Courteously,

PS: I will be talking about this matter with 6/7/8th graders tomorrow. However, it is not my intention to speak to the students in grades K-5. I believe this is a matter for individual parents to decide how they wish to address.
