Of sex and poetry, a couple of true quotes come to mind.

One is Brodsky's (do not recall where he said it, though):
he claimed that most of the world's best poetry was written
post-coitus.

Another one doesn't touch on poetry, but comes to mind all
the same: `Sex is like air. It is not important unless you
are not getting any.' (Do not remember the authorship.)

Finally, the structure of some religious rituals of the ancient
Hindu paralleled that of a love act rather closely. So, the obvious
next step is to relate a love act to prayer.
