12 April Eduard Chuvashov, a judge of the Moscow municipal court's panel of judges for criminal cases, has been killed in central Moscow. Last week Chuvashov pronounced a guilty verdict against Artur Ryno, Pavel Skachevsky and Roman Kuzin, members of a group of
nationalists who were charged with attempted murder on grounds of ethnic hatred and enmity.

22 October The head of the human rights committee Civil Assistance Svetlana Gannushkina expresses concern that nationalist organisations have monopolized the celebration of the Day of National Unity, which is marked in Russia on 4 November.

4 November Nationalists stage rallies and so-called Russian Marches in several Russian cities on National Unity Day.

1 December An article on the website Svobodnaya Pressa (Aleksandr Khramov (na_krau@lj - может ликовать): "Russia Is Filling with the Stigmata of Perestroyka-2") compares Gorbachev’s perestroika with Medvedev’s modernisation. He writes: A new perestroyka is alive today, the second round of the collapse of the USSR has begun, and again the question is arising of collaboration between the Russian national movement and the democratic opposition. Perhaps that alliance, which did not take shape in the late 1980s because of mistakes on both sides, will take shape today. The Russian national mobilization that will arise from the oppressed condition of the Russians in the Russian Federation and from the necessity of the political sovereignty of the Russian nation must coincide with democratic ransformations. Only in this case will there be a hope that changes will come out of the whirlpool and work will begin to build a modern European-style state.

13 December An article in Nezavisimaya Gazeta (Aleksandra Samarina: "Politics Return to Manezhnaya Square: Nationalist Rally in Capital Threatens Citizens' Safety, Country's Integrity") says the riots in Moscow pose a threat to national integrity.

14 December Moscow mayor Sergey Sobyanin condemns the 11 December riots in Moscow's central Manezhnaya square staged by football fans and nationalists following the killing of a Spartak Moscow football fan, Yegor Sviridov. He says that the authorities will be
tough in dealing with any violations of the law and attempts to provoke ethnic violence in the city.

15 December More than 1,500 nationalists and football fans gather in the square outside Moscow's Kiyevskiy railway station. They are shouting Nazi slogans and making Nazi salutes.

15 December The founder of the Movement Against Illegal Immigration, Aleksandr Belov, says that he has no information about serious clashes between radical nationalist youths and representatives of ethic diasporas in Moscow. The leader of the Slavonic Force movement, Dmitry Demushkin, says that Slavonic Force is not provoking clashes on the streets of Moscow and its activists only acted as observers.

Общее впечатление - как-то уж слишком малобюджетно. В советское время в "обзорах по материалам иностранной печати" больше аналитики было. А тут центр "Сова", "Новая газета", "российская газета". О Манежке под 10 декабря вообще ничего нет. Только потом она упоминается, после того как  появились публикации в прессе. Серенько.
