Friends don't let friends drink and drive (Как Мэтт пострадал через этот лозунг)
[Sample text from school textbook]

Matt and his friend were drinking somewhere. They were drinking a lot but they were staying overnight right where they were drinking. There was absolutely no plan to drive anywhere. Still, his friend got so obsessed with not letting Matt drink and drive that he seized his car keys. Matt tried to reclaim his keys but to no avail. His friend - completely drunk - ran into the backyard yelling that friends don't let friends drink and drive. Finally he threw Matt's keys away. It was dark by then. Matt had a hard time finding his keys the morning after.

Well, here in Canada just listened for a half-hour program about
the court decision to introduce the notion of 'social host',
and hold 'social host' partially liable for drunk-driving problems
after the event. It is civil, not criminal liability.

One decision was about corporate party, where one woman got drunk
and planned to drive home. Organizers offered her
a) call a taxi (I think even to pay for it)
b) call her husband to pick her up
She refused, and got into accident. After that her husband
sued the organizers.
Court held them partially liable, saying that they could do more
to prevent her from driving, in particular, to take her keys away by force !

Second case dealt with some private party, but I did not stay for details.
