Lyme update - 2 Well, the first attempt to pass the message to the doctor was unsuccessful. Her assistant called back and said that Dr. [R] confirmed that Tanya absolutely has to take 3 week course of antibiotic. I was rather puzzled. And responded that I already knew this, someone from the office called me and told me about her test results and continuation of treatment. - That was me. You questioned the treatment and asked for another blood test, didn't you? - Yes, I asked for another blood test, to test for other deer tick-transmitted diseases that may come with Lyme. The chance is pretty high, 10%. I want to be sure she is properly treated in case she got it. - Do you understand she needs to take antibiotic for 3 weeks? I thought you questioned that. - No! I wanted her to be tested for parasites that are transmitted by the same tick! babeosis! The incubation period is up to 6 weeks. The treatment may take longer, it could be different drug in addition to the one she takes for Lyme. I got this info from Government website! - OK, I guess it's better Dr. [R] gives you a call herself when she has a moment. |
