Brad You will be really surprised to find out that there is a negative movement among LJ -users about the agreement with SUP. There were a few formal requests to a few 6A authorities on that, as well as a vivid discussion firing in Russian sector. Interestingly, Anton Nossik does not answer many question and does not really intent to calm down the audience. He became very rude and calls names people who try to understand certain details of the service. i.e. http://alzheimer.livejournal.com/346736.h You may consider getting an independent interpreter to reveal what exactly is going on Cyrillic segment. For now - take my word for this - Anton Nossik is being very rude and unreasonable. Another question - why this deal was kept in secret? When you were preparing a deal with 6A - you discussed options with LJ -users in terms of service. None of us want to interfere with you business decisions - which are sacred in America, but customer protection is a big deal too. There are a few moments in this deal - at least how it looks from outside (not for minor group of glamorous people you met at your party) - that does not seem ethical. There is a certain aura combined of knowledge and rumors about AntonNossik&Co that circulates in the society and just does not seem right to many people. I know users that will abandon LJ just because they do not want to be a part of Nossik’s PR machine. I do not know what impact on English speaking/writing users this information may have, if all this scandal (that is largely underestimated by SUP) hits the blogs. I believe that your folks are already doing something about this. Sincerely, |
