Levkonoe, I found something that might interest you: it is a website of a born blind Turkish painter whose name is Esref Armagan. These are oil painting, with realistically looking objects: portraits, landscapes, with striking colors, linear (in one painting, possibly, even aerial) perspective, cast shadows, and light effects. I also spotted the effect of transparency (an object in a bottle). Check http://www.armagan.com/paintings.asp
His lifestory and techniques are explained on the same site. I am absolutely stunned. What does it tell us about the meaning of being an artist? The painter never saw what he painted and has no concept of color and light.
