Nicky Bоеhme ![]() Balloоn Glоw 1280 x 960 пикселей, 121 Кбайт Nicky's paintings of quaint, peaceful scenes awash with dramatic light and vibrant colors, draw the viewer into a romantic and memorable adventure of a special place and time. Nicky Boehme captures on canvas the romantic scenes of which one dreams...the countryside cottages filled with colorful gardens which beckon the viewer to stop in for a cup of tea...the cozy cabin nestled on a mountainside with a lazy stream meandering by... or, perhaps, a scene of a quaint Victorian home surrounded by trees with its lights aglow. These are subjects filled with nostalgic memories of which she brings to her canvas. Her subject matter doesn't stop there. She is also noted for her marine paintings of old cannery towns, fishing boats with picturesque villages, authentic ports of early American maritime history as well as the harbors of today. Nicky spent years sailing and studying the oceans, cruising the waters from Mexico to Alaska and the New England coastal waters in order to enhance the authenticity of her marine subjects. Nicky studied technical art at the Oakland Art Institute in California and went on to become art director of several national ad agencies. It was at this time that she received numerous awards as an illustrator and graphic designer. She has had many feature articles on her works and her biography in national magazines and trade publications. Her art has been published internationally in several books such as YACHT PORTRAITS by Sheridan House and TASTE OF THE STATES by Howell Press. Many of her works have been reproduced as limited edition prints, open end lithographs, calendars, posters, note cards, puzzles and reproductions on foil. Nicky was born and raised in California and she now resides and works out of her studio in northern California. She is an artist-member of the "American Society of Marine Artists,' the "Oil Painters of America," and "Coast Guard Artist Program." |
