Abigail Hopper Gibbons helped operate the only (recorded) stop on the only Underground Railroad in Manhattan. (It’s located at Lamartine Place, now 339 W. 29th St., the white/yellow building in the middle with the fire escape.) It was destroyed in 1863 during the NYC Draft Riots, which you should totally look up because it’s a crazy story.
