Tech Companies Jockey as Pentagon Says Cloud Contract Coming
The Pentagon is now more than a month behind its previously set deadline to issue a request for proposals for a multibillion-dollar cloud computing contract
• The contract, known as the Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure cloud, or JEDI, is highly sought by the biggest cloud providers, who are all jockeying to lock in the federal business
• Pentagon's new CIO, Dana Deasy, said Wednesday that the final RFP isn't far off, Bloomberg reported, adding that the Defense Department should't worry about arbitrary deadlines to get it out
