National Subdivisions with a Human Development Index (HDI) Score of 0.800 or Higher
National Subdivisions with a Human Development Index (HDI) Score of 0.800 or Higher

Data was collected in 2022 and released on 13 March 2024.

Some observations:

I’ve made a similar map with 2021’s data so when I made this map, I noticed some new trends. New regions in Mexico and Armenia have surpassed the 0.800 mark such as Baja California and Yerevan, respectively. Sadly, Ukraine’s scores for all regions across the board have declined due to Russia’s invasion. Chile somehow still has 2 regions below the 0.800 mark, and Argentina is the only Latin American country to have every region above the mark. Turkey, despite its inflation issues, is the latest country to bring all of its regions above 0.800 HDI, technically qualifying it as a “fully developed” country going off of this metric. Chile and Malaysia seem to be on a similar trajectory.
