Seasonality of precipitation in the contiguous United States
Seasonality of precipitation in the contiguous United States

The map shows the percentage of the year's precipitation that falls from April 16 through October 15, which is roughly the warmer half of the year in most of the contiguous United States. In the blue areas, more precipitation falls in winter than summer; in red areas summer is wetter than winter.

Map is based on 1991-2020 climate normals from Oregon State University's PRISM climate dataset.
