I'm sure this has been done to death, but usually it's the other way around.

I named USA states and territories with their rough equivalent country or dependancy in size.

They're not all perfect matches obviously, but most are pretty close. Also, the second image is the numbers if you're curious.

Edit: If you're wondering what the asterisks are for- they represent disputed territories, constituents, or dependencies.
