Australian journalists could face jail
  * Journalists working for foreign-owned outlets could face jail under
Australia's foreign interference laws for exposing defence force war
crimes or misuse of surveillance powers, a new paper has warned.*
There is a general pattern in which Australian laws to "protect security"
lack safeguards against repression. Consider the Australian equivalent
of the Espionage Act, which was used to prosecute whistleblower Witness K,
and the law allowing Australia to force anyone to sabotage any
computer system (that perse has access to) or be put in prison.
