Trees knocked down by Hurricane Helene Hurricane Helene struck the US Atlantic coast in September and knocked down many trees. Now, six months later, they are fueling wildfires. Two different effects of global heating are thus combining to do increased damage. How is the US responding to them? Increasing fossil fuel extraction and demolishing FEMA.
