Le Pen says he is 'no more a racist' than Blair Jean-Marie Le Pen says he is "no more a racist" than Tony Blair. Le Pen said the British government's opposition to the refugee camp in the French town of Sangatte proves there is no difference between his approach to immigration and Blair's. The camp at Sangatte, located near the entrance to the Channel tunnel has become a magnet for refugees. Train traffic that runs through the tunnel is frequently interrupted by immigrants trying to enter Britain illegally. "I think we could make a special train to send them to Mr. Blair," Le Pen said. Le Pen said that France "was obligated to establish Sangatte because the 'anti-racist' British prime minister doesn't want to see them back there." Earlier this week, Blair called on Europeans to reject the policies espoused by Le Pen's far-right party, the National Front, saying there was no future in "narrow-minded racism and nationalism."
