Unused back muscles switch themselves off Slumping in front of the television or computer could deactivate muscles that support and protect your spine, triggering many otherwise inexplicable cases of lower back pain.

the only thing that was sorely missing on my last vacations was the ability to take pictures or movies without a camera. especially underwater. just hook up my optical nerves to a recording device and let it roll. it would turn on automatically on "wow, there's no words to describe what's happening". a 200-pound sea turtle rising from the bottom to get some air. right by me. so graceful. even more graceful than underwater hippos in the San Diego Zoo.
here we are in the early morning ocean catching a breath, nose to nose.
i'm glad i didn't use any snorkeling or diving gear this time around. it took some time and saltwater to get used to, but with only goggles and flippers on me i felt like one of them. the sea turtles. almost weightless. resurfacing.
a couple more eyes would help too. |

elections. investor outlook. Gallup. |
[Aug. 25th, 2004|09:01 pm] |
It appears American investors already discounted W's second term in office. ( see full text of the Gallup poll... )
I wish I could get the raw data to see the correlations, factors, and cross-section analysis! In any case, if Kerry is elected it would be a major short-term surprise to the market, probably on the negative side. Long term we are looking into return of inflation, primarily because of the high energy costs and budget deficits. Which means the Fed will continue interest rates, which means slower, if any, economic growth, which means a fickle market. Actually, we already have huge inflation in non-dollar terms, e.g. vs euro and yen. Given that, and the continuing growth in Asia, it probably makes sense to invest in Japanese, and maybe even Chinese index funds.
action item: find them.
Most likely Europe will continue to stagnate.
US high-tech, esp. semi and software will probably rebound with the new version of Windows. 2006? Before that QQQ single-digit growth. Commodity technology manufacturers rule.
action item. check Samsung stock. |
