in winter wind the pig giggles in his sleep
translated by David Lanoue

how would you test a hypothesis that b2b products are generally of lower quality than comparable b2c products? e.g. ms vs apple. is this a domain-specific phenomenon? |

Now, thousands of years later, modern agrarians—along with engineers, foresters and consumers—directly control 23.8 percent of all the world's photosynthesis, according to a new analysis. Science, 07/03/07
An interesting perspective on human evolution. As with global warming, it is hard to imagine that people can have a planet-wide impact. Most of us do have a feeling that urban technology ( factories, concrete, asphalt, and cars) is capable of changing environment in cities. It is sufficient to visit LA or Shanghai on a hot summer day to appreciate human impact on the scale of a local eco-system. For some reason Earth seems a lot bigger than anything imaginable. Maybe we will get it when commercial space travel begins in earnest. Till then global warming will always be "over-hyped". |
