When I was a kid there were merely two channels on TV, and they show cartoons on weekends only.
So I liked to browse pictures in books.
Among these books was one (called something like "The Greatest Astronomers On Earth") full of portraits of unusually looking men.
This book imprinted a great confusion in my mind, which haunted me for years.
It reads: "Copernicus 1473-1543", "Galileo 1564-1642".
"WHY?! Copernicus is older than Galileo?" -- a childish mind cried.
Why all this inquisition and stuff about Galileo?, if by the time Copernicus has already discovered the truth.
DIDN'T THEY KNOW ABOUT COPERNICUS?
What was fucking wrong with them all?!
As it perceived by a child, Copernicus theory once published must have been stopped debates not open them!!!
He have made a point, isn't it enough?!
At the time I concluded:
"it must be a typo in the book" |
