A one-year postdoc in Edinburgh
(Анонимно)

circulated on behalf of Iain G Gordon <i.gordon@ed.ac.uk>

A one-year postdoc is available in Edinburgh, to run from Sep 2007 to
Aug 2008. The application deadline is on the 27th of July. The details
are at

https://www.jobs.ed.ac.uk/vacancies/index.cfm?fuseaction=vacancies.detail&vacancy_ref=3007616

This coincides with the inaugural year of EGA (the Edinburgh Glasgow
Aberdeen algebraic geometry seminar, or Highland COW), so there should
be plenty of attractive algebraic geometric activity.

*** 5-year research positions in Mathematical Physics ***
*** Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto ***

The Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto invites applications
for three 5-year research positions in Mathematical Physics. The
successful candidates will develop their research activities at the
Center of Mathematics of the University of Porto or at the Porto
Physics Center, and will participate in the Physics and Mathematics
graduate programs.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The research positions are aimed at developing research in Mathematical
Physics at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto. The
appointments will be made for up to five years, renewed yearly. The
positions will be held at the Center of Mathematics of the University
of Porto (CMUP) or at the Porto Physics Center (CFP).

The researchers should have a strong interdisciplinary background with
interests in both Physics and Mathematics. They are expected to develop
research within the areas of interest of the existing research groups
in Gravitational Physics (String theory and Cosmology) at CFP or in
Geometry (Symplectic and Differential Geometry and Geometric Aspects of
Differential Equations) at CMUP. However, applications are also
encouraged from excellent candidates from other related research
areas.

APPLICATIONS

Candidates must have a solid background in Theoretical Physics or in
Mathematics, with a research experience of at least 3 years after their
PhD degree. In support of their application candidates must submit:

Curriculum Vitae.
A 5-year Research Proposal (maximum 2 A4 pages), emphasizing their own
research objectives and their contribution to the development of
