Культурная программа последних недель Последняя декада мая оказалась неожиданно оживлённой. Даже старушка Синематека, куда уже месяца три, если не ошибаюсь, не ступала моя нога человека, порадовала плодами Техноколора. Не следовало, конечно, преувеличивать, с голодухи набрасываться и на прочее барахло. Барахло должно быть со знаком качества. В моём детстве, к примеру, таким барахлом были кукурузные хлопья и карамель "подушечки". Соевые батончики по этому разряду не проходили. 20.V. Fred Astaire is thief Johnny Riggs, a dapper con-man travelling the mythical South American land of Patria. Lucille Bremer co-stars as Yolanda, a naive, sheltered young woman, and heiress to the wealthiest family in the land. Their paths cross when Johnny overhears Yolanda's plea for a guardian angel and introduces himself as the answer to her prayers. With the aid of fellow rogue Victor Trout (Frank Morgan), the two attempt to enrich themselves - at the expense of Yolanda. . .Johnny is then forced to choose between ill-gotten wealth and the love of a beautiful woman Чистейшего барахла чистейший образец и при том - какие визуальные вершины! The story, based on Edna Ferber's famous novel about life on a Mississippi show boat, tells parallel love stories of two doomed marriages. Magnolia (Kathryn Grayson), the sheltered daughter of the Cotton Blossom's owner (Joe E. Brown), falls in love and runs off to Chicago with a dashing riverboat gambler (Howard Keel). Their marriage is wrecked by his love for Lady Luck, however, and her family brings the pregnant. . .Magnolia back to the show boat to have her baby. Ultimately, she reconciles with her wandering mate to give the marriage another try. The star singer on the Cotton Blossom, beautiful Julie LaVerne (Ava Gardner), and her husband (Robert Sterling) run afoul of Southern law when the sheriff discovers that she is mulatto and her husband is white. They are forced to leave the show boat and flee because Southern law forbids miscegnation. ``Old Man River'', ``Bill'' and many other hits in this entertaining musical. Детский волчок плавно переходящий в рулетку, за которой папенька просаживает деньги - не слабже "Девушки и смерти". 23.V IRENE Ivan Calberac Cecile De France, Bruno Putzulu A sort of French ``Brigitte Jones'', ``Irene'' shows that it's not easy being thirtysomething and single and a woman, not even in Paris. 30/V MONSIEUR IBRAHIM ET LES FLEURS DU CORAN Francois Dupeyron Omar Sharif, Pierre Boulanger Paris, the early sixties. Monsieur Ibrahim is the owner of a small grocery store in an ethnicly-mixed working class neighborhood. It is there that Momo, a young Jewish kid, makes his first attempt at shoplifting. From there on develops a powerful friendship between the two. Although it may seem a facile attempt at reconciliation during a time of strife between Jews and Arabs in France,the film's nostalgic sincerity and the charisma of the actors (Omar Sharif already in his 8th decade), make it a moving and effective drama. (Fr., Heb. subt.) Последние два шедевра проходят по разряду "современной сказки". Дедушка Пропп содрогнулся бы. Всё время просмотра мучительно (ну не будем,не будем так преувеличивать!) пытаешься понять, что же они этим хотели сказать, и всё без толку. Бла-бла-бла оно и есть бла-бла-бла. Зато контрамарки на фестивальные представления оказались очень кстати. Навас был, что называется, вполне интеллигентен, хотя прочие эпитеты, пожалуй, применять не стану, а квартет просто прекрасен, особенно Яначек и Дворжак, особенно сыгранный на бис фрагмент из "Американского квартета". 27.V Sterile Fields Choreographer-dancer: José Navas Music: Tom Walsh Lighting: Philippe Dupeyroux Solo With Cello Cellist: Catherine Perron Music: Allan Hovhaness, Yakamochi op. 193 #2 Benjamin Britten, Suite 1 for Cello Description: José Navas is a Venezuelan-born dancer-choreographer of extraordinary ability. He moved from Caracas to New York and from there to Montreal with his partner, who died two years later from AIDS. The first work in the program, Sterile Fields, is dedicated to his late partner and was inspired by the time the two spent in the sterile zones of various hospitals. In the dance that concludes the evening, Solo with Cello, Navas shares the stage with a cellist who plays live music and is a full partner in the dance.
