That day I was a witnesser of celebration of the Finnish national holiday - The Veteran's Day. Suprisingly, it wasn't anything like "military parade" - very short concert at the Cathedral square in Helsinki in 10 o'clock, and then completely civil bycicle race along Mannerheimintie, central street of Finnish capitol. Nothing of the impression about Soviet or Russian military holidays!
In April, 30 and May, 1, Finland celebrates other holidays, that are not connected, also, with Soviet May Day, i.e. these are REAL holidays.
Happy further celebration, my dear Finnish friends! A.M. |
