Nazi Brit Rock Lots of English performers – especially those born during World War II – have had a fascination with Nazi fashion and, more disturbingly, fascist philosophy. But why? For shock value? Was it, as Souxsie Sioux of The Banshees once said, a device for pissing off the elders? Said the punk rockette: “It was an anti-mums and dads thing. We hated older people always harping on about Hitler – ‘We showed him‘ – and that smug pride. It was a way of watching someone like that go completely red-faced.”
