Isn't there a way for Frost to detect the sources of the DOS, and shunt it's input for some random amount of time? Is there an API or specification I can examine?
No, that's against the whole fucking point of freenet. You can't identify where shit is coming from.
But - there should be a way to detect that a node is passing garbage (broken messages) and then shunt it (discard it). Knowing from where it came isn't important in this regard.

Some people asked in Forum and in the mailing list about how do they install txz files which is new on Slackware-Current? Apparently, if you are following -Current, it won't be a problem for you as you already have all the packages needed to install txz files.
The problems may arise when you try to mix -Current and -Stable packages. It's NOT recommended because packages in -Current are build with different toolchain than in -Stable and due to changes here and there, it *might* break compatibilities with -Stable.
But, if you need to work with txz files, you will need to update following packages: tar gzip pkgtool file coreutils less Best option is to upgrade fully to -Current and you won't have problem with txz
ложь, пиздёж и провокация. достаточно обновить pkgtool, tar (кажется, даже не обязательно?) и поставить (сюрпрайз!) xz. все эти пакеты есть в карренте в формате tgz. лично у меня на 12.2 отлично поставилось и txz-пакеты обрабатывает.
а, ну да: slapt-get если кто использует — тоже надо обновить. версию аффтар, вроде бы, не поменял, но недавно взятый с сайта slapt-get вполне понимает, чо делать с txz.
