Now, the truth is not always a pleasant thing, but it is necessary now make a choice, to choose between two admittedly regrettable, but nevertheless, distinguishable post-war environments: one where you got twenty million people killed, and the other where you got a hundred and fifty million people killed. (c) Gen.Turgidson (from Dr.Strangelove К этому вот Что забавно - прозападный пипл почему-то полагает, что возможность стран "оси зла" нанести ядерный удар по странам "оси добра" есть свидетельство их крайне агрессивных намерений. Реальные причины, по поводу которых происходят эти спекуляции понятны. Более интересен расхожий стереотип - "если они на нас могут скинуть Бомбу - это ужос-ужос-ужос, мы совершенно беззащиты перед толпой мусульманских/коммунистических фанатиков". Реальность же несколько другая - даже в случае полномасштабной атомной войны с РФ США скорее всего одержат победу. Единственное но - эта победа будет довольно дорого стоить - но 20-30 миллионов убитых - для США не смертельно, тем более, что большая их часть придется на гражданское население вообще и женщин/детей в особенности - что в общем для военного аспекта не очень важные потери. В случае же войны со "злой осью", буде у нее заведется ЯО - потери будут исчисляться десятками, максимум - парой-тройкой сотен тысяч убитых, что по европонятиям всегда считалось приемлемыми потерями. Так что реально, единственное, что утрачивают "силы бобра" - это полную практически безнаказанность (впрочем 9/11 продемонстрировали, что с полной безнаказанностью и так есть определенные траблы). Ну и где тут страшные угрозы миру? Единственное - придется несколько больше считаться с контрагентами. PS: Ааааааа!!!!! - Dr.Strangelove live CHRIS CUOMO: You said if Iran were to strike Israel, there would be 'massive retaliation." Scary words. Does 'massive retaliation" mean you'd go into Iran? You would bomb Iran? Is that what that's supposed to suggest? CLINTON: Well, the question was, if Iran were to launch a nuclear attack on Israel, what would our response be? And I want the Iranians to know that if I am president, we will attack Iran. And I want them to understand that. Because it does mean that they have to look very carefully at their society. Because whatever stage of development they might be in their nuclear weapons program, in the next 10 years during which they might foolishly consider launching an attack on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them. That's a terrible thing to say, but those people who run Iran need to understand that.
