Редко, какие картины заставляют меня возвращаться по многу раз. Акварельные портреты Билера, написанные в знаменитой технике «Савьеж-стиля» - заставили. Всматриваюсь в лица людей, которых давно уже нет. Необъяснимое чувство тоски и жалости. Какие измождённые трудом люди. Изработанные руки. Это, в основном, портреты жителей швейцарского Савьежа, находящегося в кантоне Вале.
Первый раз в жизни мне захотелось, чтобы эти люди с картин были до сих пор живы. Захотелось с ними встретиться, подержать их за руку; заглянуть в глаза...
