How to become an Assistant Professor of Education at Harvard
A commenter in a previous post said that maybe it is typical of assistant professors in Education to have very few publications. I looked at all assistant professors at Harvard Dept. of Education to find out.

Faculty list: https://www.gse.harvard.edu/faculty-directory

People with title "Assistant Professor of Education" can be separated into two equal groups:

The first group has on average 3 refereed papers per professor, and the papers are on political subjects (e.g. history of racist oppression in the USA). All assistant professors from this group are black males.

The second group has on average 49 refereed papers per professor, and the papers have a clear emphasis on mathematics, statistics, and empirical observation. All assistant professors from the second group are ethnically of European origin (i.e. "white").

To me, this clearly refutes the hypothesis that the African-American assistant professors of Education have a typical career.

Data:

Group 1:

Peter Blair. No refereed papers. Black male.

Emmerich Davies. One (1) refereed paper. Black male. http://www.emmerichdavies.com/research.html

Jarvis R. Givens. Six (6) publications before 2019, possibly all refereed (although one journal's title is "Souls", so not sure). Black male.

Anthony A. Jack. Five (5) refereed publications before 2019. https://scholar.google.com/citations?hl=en&user=O0p1RtMAAAAJ&view_op=list_works&sortby=pubdate. Black male.

Group 2:

Dana Charles McCoy. 72 publications before 2019. White female.

Luke W. Miratrix. 33 publications before 2019. White male.
