The decision to move from Moscow to Israel was made at this point eleven years ago. I had returned from Prague and Italy to Moscow several days earlier, on May 2. Then I just checked my Russian passport and found out that it was going to expire on November 13, 2014; the Israeli authorities required one's passport to be valid for six months from the day of entry; therefore, I had to fly to Israel urgently or stay in Moscow for another month or so to get a new passport. I decided to fly to Israel urgently. All my decisions were made at the very last moment during the hectic Spring 2014.
