On the parents' definition of success
Scott D. Clary writes in Facebook -- https://www.facebook.com/scottdclarypage/posts/pfbid02AxMfasgBg7jZYB47WbotQXqBdE8Bgmz9KsU27rqnQCg8qp5ea5CBfBd4m2TkUqFyl :

Most people are living their parents' definition of success:

The stable job they hate.
The house they can't afford.
The life that looks good but feels empty.

You're 35 living the dream your parents had at 25.

***

Many people aren't even living their parents' definition of success. They are living the parents' definition of their child's success. The definition of success the parents had for themselves was different, and often much better.
