Reconsidering My American Values In the past, I held a pro-American stance wherein I regarded American values of free speech and gun rights as commendable. However, since my transition, my perspective has shifted, leading me to perceive both the First and Second Amendments as formidable adversaries. Free speech, from my current vantage point, invariably manifests as hate speech, while the availability of firearms poses a tangible threat, as they may be wielded by an extremist adherent of neo-Nazi ideology, targeting me solely due to my identity as a transgender woman. Moreover, grappling with unemployment and experiencing discrimination at the hands of employers, I have developed a strong aversion towards capitalism and free enterprise, perceiving them as fundamentally lacking in humanity.
