1:45p	Не верьте невскому проспекту There was a Yahoo headline about PETA protesting about Alaskan Girl Scouts being taught trapping: Girl Scout Beaver Traps Upset Activists I love the linguistic complexiy of this: the double meaning depends on the fact that a) "beaver" as a noun has two very different meanings (thought presumably one derives from a perceived likeness to the other) b) "trap" is both a noun and a verb c) the singular third person verb is formed in the same way the plural noun (ie. by adding an "s" d) "upset" is both an adnective and a verb e) the journalistic convention of overloading headlines with nouns. I don't think you could translate it into any other language with anything like the same double meaning. I doubt whether you could even have a similar pun in another language.
