Наши в городе (лит.) "LOVE LESSONS, MONDAYS, 9 A.M." by LARA VAPNYAR Симпатичный рассказ (концовка никакая, а так - весь цимес в деталях), но меня занимает вопрос - how it speaks to american reader? Не могу удержаться от цитаты (девушке - учительнице математики - поручили преподавать Sexual Ed): "I had my book and my poster, and it wasn’t as if I had no experience whatsoever. I wasn’t a virgin. Or, at least, I didn’t think I was. I wasn’t entirely sure". The New Yorker: Lara Vapnyar (“Love Lessons, Mondays, 9 a.m.,” p. 133) has a collection of short stories, “There Are Jews in My House,” coming out in December. She came to the United States from Russia in 1994. |
