Делать нечего, написала им вчера жалобу по адресу, мне только отношений с коллектором не хватало в моей небогатой событиями жизни.
Dear Sir/Madam:
I shipped GXG (3 business days) package 1 lb. 12 oz. from xxx, MA, USA to Quito, Ecuador on Thursday, May 29, 2003. Air bill # xxxx.
The package arrived to Ecuador and was held in customs, accumulating storage fee starting from June 1, 2003. The recipient was not notified by DHL that the shipment had been waiting for him. The recipient was contacted via fax on Thursday, June 5 (2 days late from guaranteed delivery day Tuesday, June 3) for the first time. There was an attempt to make a delivery on June 6. The recipient was unavailable but this is beyond the point since the delivery was already 3 days late. Subsequently, the recipient left Ecuador on June 9 (Monday) at 8am. I was advised to pay $108 to have the package returned to US by DHL rep. DHL rep suggested alternatively the package could be send into “abandonment”.
I disagreed to either paying $108 for return shipment or sending the package into “abandonment”. I subsequently talked to DHL GXG rep Martina, her supervisor Lisa and Lisa’s manager Carol who (as I believed at that time) agreed to send the package back to me free of charge. The package promptly arrived on June 19th.
On September 29’03 I received my first DHL bill for $91.95 (invoice xxxxx, account xxxxxx).
The last bill arrived on February 16’04. It’s marked OVER 30 DAYS and states the following:
YOUR ACCOUNT IS SIGNIFICANTLY DELINQUENT. WE SENT YOU AN ORIGINAL INVOICE AND MULTIPLE STATEMENTS REQUESTING PAYMENT. IF PAYMENT IS NOT RECEIVED IN 20 DAYS, YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE ASSIGNED FOR COLLECTION COSTS OF 25% OF THE UNPAID CHARGES.
Not only DHL never apologized for the poor service – the company suggests I pay for getting out of trouble I got into via using DHL GXG.
Please give this matter the proper consideration.
I will contact Better Business Bureau and DHL SVP for Americas if there is no better way to settle the matter.
