RMS is not a communist, but he is reading a cool-aid of so-called "left-leaning media" and thats why he goes onto RT and does that Chomsky thing. There is no problem with RMS, and he will be cured from russia-induced bullshit after two weeks of reading some liberal media outlet like hromadske.ua. There is a wider problem, however, with both left-leaning and right-leaning media in the US in regards to Russia infiltration. Thats how we got Misha supporting Trump for example, and how we got all those tons of theguardian links in RMS blog. I think, that when we see respectable people following russian bullshit narrative, we need to display more mercy and compassion to those people, because they are victims in those situations. And it is not so easy to spot RT-induced narrative, when you read only theguardian or, say, takimag. Despite that, I am in full support of RMS views on the software. Unlike in politics, RMS is a well-known expert in software freedom issues, and that is where his opinion matters. RMS is not asked by people about women, russia, chomsky or whether wikileaks became a russian puppet. RMS is asked by people about GPL, Emacs and Linux. That is where his opinion matter, and that is why your argument is strawman.
