December personal income level was inflated by Microsoft dividend payout The Commerce Department last week announced that U.S. personal income in January was 2.3 percent below the December level. Commerce had to qualify that announcement by noting that the December level was inflated by a $32 billion dividend payout by Microsoft Corp.
