Yeah, McCain made a good move, but I doubt it'll be enough to overcome Obama's sex appeal charisma. On the other hand, who knows. If Putin keeps making crazy statements McCain may come back in polls.

Obama and Biden look very presidential, while McCain and Palin look like a father showcasing his pretty daughter.

I don't think Russia is much of a factor, the reason being is that Obama and especially Biden have criticized Russia strongly as well, so it's down to how the American people want to deal with that and other crises - diplomatically or militarily. I believe it's the former, as we've had more than enough of the latter.

I think Russia provides an equally easy rhetorical target for both sides, but there's not much the US can do beyond the rhetoric.

Besides, it's all about entertainment value :) Obama's story is still much better than that of McCain's. Palin seems to be an improvement for the Republican side, so her appearance will make the contest more interesting.
