Very similar to "the deviation from sanity" that happened to Democrats in California, when the same party controlled both the executive and the legislative branches of the government. Most likely the upcoming Presidential and Congressional elections are not going to change the situation on the federal level. Which means higher national debt, higher inflation, and higher interest rates. We'll probably see a significant spike in inflation as soon as the employment situation improves, sometime mid 2004.
I believe the current price of gold already reflects that. Need to check other commodities.
Technology growth stocks should provide some protection from inflation. |
