2004: TRIZ: to do list: |
[Dec. 24th, 2003|04:24 pm] |
Notes on problems with TRIZ as a coherent methodology (in no particular order).
1. It's based on the analysis of mostly Soviet patents. We know, for example, that the vast majority of US patents are useless, so it would be reasonable to think that Soviet patents are no better, if not worse. -- relevancy
2. Different parts of the methodology are very loosely connected (Principles, Su-F analysis, System Evolution Patterns). -- consistency
3. Examples from obsolete technologies. -- relevancy
4. Books on TRIZ are poorly written and/or translated. -- new sources needed
5. Perceived as a cult from outside of the community. -- consistent message, tools, methodology. |
