the bare-root almond tree we planted last winter is alive!!! about two weeks ago for the first time in my life i prayed over a tree and it apparently worked :)) one persimmon tree is still dormant. please, please, please grow some leaves! two or three rose cuttings died, but the other six are ok. five grape cuttings are alive. mediterranean fan palms are about to bloom. what else... i pretty much gave up on the weeds, but the fight with aphids is still on. |

I can just picture the scene right now;
Ladybugs are released nearby where the Aphids are, and the Aphids are munching on the plants when the Ladybugs arive.
The Aphids are made to retreat, while a grey roundish aphid with elephant feet yells out
"Hold the line. Hold the liiiiiiiiine!"
That's funny :) Actually, I saw yesterday how a lady bug hunted aphids. It was jumping, attacking, tearing into flesh ... everything you can see in one of those National Geographic documentaries about lions or tigers. | |
