Weird words and letters |

On on the limo-bus to Inchon (Seoul) airport I met an Indian woman who spoke English with a slight German accent. We talked a little bit about the usual "Where are you from", "What do you do", "What brings you to Seoul", and etc... She was born in Germany of Indian parents, and spent most of her professional life as an international software consultant, nothing really special, mostly SAP installations. I told her about my feeling of being completely alien on the streets of Seoul, where letters-pictograms(?) consistently failed to form names inside my brain, and she said she felt the same in Moscow. Then, seeing my astonishment, she added, "Of course, they write in Cyrillic. Even the right looking words and letters mean completely different things". |

В разговорах с людьми из других культур часто встречаешь такое очевидное несовпадение ощущения "нормальности". :) | |
