Here's a short list of books that influenced me the most:

1. Война и Мир; Лев Толстой. ( War and Peace, by Leo Tolstoy )
2. Television and the quality of life : how viewing shapes everyday experience / Robert Kubey and Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi.
3. Darwin's Dangerous Idea / Daniel C. Dennet.
4. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and other novels / Duglas Adams.
5. The Selfish Gene, / Richard Dawkins.
6. God : a biography / Jack Miles.

еще несколько книг (perhaps, not the most in the sense above, but in the vicinity)
Heimito von Doderer. Demons.
Etienne Gilson. The unity of philosophical experience.
and his The reason and revelation in the Middle Ages.
Allan Janik, Stephen Toulmin. Wittgenstein's Vienna (the first half, by Janik)
Keizan. Denkoroku (translated as Transmission of Light by Cleary)
