Slain Toronto rapper Houdini unable to escape gun violence
Houdini is the city’s 30th murder victim of the year and 18 of those slain have been killed by guns.
Despite much of Toronto being shut down amid the pandemic, there have still been more shootings this year than there were last year at this time or over the same time period in 2018 when the city set a record-high for homicides.
Other rappers killed in recent months include Tyronne Noseworthy, 19, aka Fourty4Double0, who had worked with Houdini; Farah Hersi Handule, 23, aka 22 Filthy; Jahquar Stewart, 24, aka Bvlly, who had also worked with Houdini; and Keeshawn Brown, 18, aka Why-S, who had collaborated with Fourty4Double0.
