New SDF rendering algorithm
I remember rendering voxels with SDF, which allowed easily smoothing them and eliminating seams.
Nowadays the entire 3d modelling world is transitioning to SDF.
So they updated the old algorithm and it can now trace riemann surfaces directly:

Fortunately any kind of modelling will soon be supplanted by AI.
Who cares if you can draw a perfect sphere, if the AI can draw a perfect planet?
You want to have some control? Well, AI can draw over your stick figures too!

It isn't. Use of SDF modelling plugins/apps is at the experimental stage. It can pan out into something useful, take some niche, but that haven't happened just yet, and due to properties of SDF, its usefulness could be limited to certain styles/subjects. And there are like "several" games that have shipped with renderers that are based on SDF, for rendering SDF based models, Media Molecule's Dreams being the main one.

You personally don't need riemann surfaces. You need to at least start using GPU first, in the year of our lord 2024.

If you don't want to use gpus, then shut the fuck up about what the industry is doing and where it's moving, because you are moving backward, toward making it run on an Acorn computer, windows 95 or whatever. Modern rendering techniques are for gpus.
