RTS starts trading gold options

MOSCOW. Jan 30 (Interfax) - The Russian Trading System (RTS) started trading options on gold futures on its FORTS Derivatives market in January 29, the RTS said in a press release.

This is the first options contract to be treaded on the FORTS commodities section and will vastly increase hedging opportunities for companies dealing on the gold market and for gold mining companies and jewelers, the RTS said.

The contract will also broaden the investment opportunities of financial market participants by providing them with considerably more investment strategies using gold options and futures.
