It's not terribly wrong to colloquially say "poisonous" instead of "venomous", but technically it's incorrect.

There was a web comic explaining the difference, and ukrainian hohly translated it using words отруйні та отрутні and many hohol totally believed that, although отрутні is not even a word, toopiye xoxly xaxa
