We Read All 3,065 Pages of Ukraine Testimony So You Don’t Have To

Public impeachment hearings by the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence begin this week. Charge d’Affaires to Ukraine William Taylor and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State George Kent are scheduled to testify on Nov. 13. Former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch is scheduled to testify on Nov. 15. These witnesses and others have already been deposed by the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence behind closed doors. Eight deposition transcripts were released publicly last week, totaling 2,677 pages of sworn testimony.

To make these voluminous pages more digestible, Lawfare contributors have summarized each of the released 11 deposition transcripts. We have published summaries of eight, and will publish the remaining summaries as they are ready. The summaries are available below and include links to the relevant deposition transcripts:

Sorry if off topic, but the first paragraph of your post brought back some great memories of 9th grade science class. Arguing with my teacher about whether brown dwarfs were real or not. he vehemently denied it. So I brought in some articles to prove him wrong, in front of the entire class. Mr. Caylor was PISSED! I remember him being red in the face, explaining to me that he didnt make the curriculum, and had to teach it, regardless if it was true, or even outdated. I was supposed to sit down, shut up, and learn the untrue things he was trying to teach us.

That's when I started teaching myself things I wanted to know, and questioning everything taught in school.
