pvt with Sara Grdan
She was great, very clear explanations, many things clicked instantly

- stay up, going down doesn't give you anything
- lead from the hips, not from the chest
- walking forward - leave the straight back leg behind longer
- first step, every step in a new direction (so every side step), every acceleration require preparation. You shift back to go forward, you shift forward to go back
- on ochos, don't lead the pivots (have to think on this one - seems very opposite to what Kara/Javier were telling me); go in one direction, then another. She is already disassociated, she can pivot and go to the new direction. If you do lead the pivot, she becomes "square" and needs to disassociate again.
- ganchos are not back steps, they are side steps in the molinete sequence. get the lady to the back step, stick your leg in (heel up, that bends the knee, creates more space) and *keep leading her with your hips* to take a side step. Three possibilities - high gancho, low-energy low gancho (sometimes without her crossing your legs at all), and keep leading her to actually take the side step, softly pushing your leg out
- barridas - again, lead from the hips, sometimes the lead is as little as moving your weight from the instep of the standing leg to the outstep. Even the bicicleta - up and down has to come more from the hips and less from feet
- cruzadas - again, lead from the hips. Possibilities - lead the normal step, lead a cruzada, lead a cross without a weight change.
